The After School Support for Teens Program has joined numerous partners in marking the Global Entrepreneurship Week 2018 in Kosovo. Students from Xhevdet Doda partner school in Pristina visited the Kosovo Apparel Convention on November 14th, 2018, to learn more on the importance of the apparel industry for employment and economic growth, and opportunities for their future involvement in the apparel industry through practical experience opportunities or student design contest.

They were also part of the workshop on Start-ups in the Innovation Centre Kosovo (ICK) to learn about benefits and challenges of being entrepreneurs in Kosovo. Whereas students from Hajdar Dushi partner school in Gjakova were hosted by Jakova Innovation Center (JIC) on November 15th, 2018. They were offered the opportunity to discuss about entrepreneurship among young people and to learn from skilled and innovative JIC associates.

Students presented their experience gained during entrepreneurial activities organized with the support of the Program, and received feedback on the products created with 3D printer, laser cutter and other equipment provided by the Program. Students were excited about the new experiences gained: “Entrepreneurship activities in our school have helped us a lot to develop innovative ideas to make our community better. It is a great opportunity to develop our creativity”, said Bleart Kepuska, 10th grader from Hajdar Dushi School. “These events opened us up for new opportunities, such as participating in a design contest in the future”, said Engjellusha Borllorzhi, a 10th grader from Xhevdet Doda School in Pristina. Thanks to Jakova Innovation Center (JIC); Innovation Centre Kosovo (ICK) and Kosovo Apparel Marketing Association (KAMA) for hosting our students during the GEW 2018.
